High Point, NC

In October of 2016 E&E bought the old High Point post office moving from a 8000 sq ft showroom in IHFC to their own 30,000 sq. ft. space. I was tasked with many different projects the main project being to design and implement the Madison Park Signature section of the showroom, approx. 7,000 sq. ft. This is the story of the move and build of a brand new showroom.

Planning

Toured the site to get a feel for space size and any and all obstructions that we could use to our design advantage.

Worked other designers and architect to place walls and doors throughout the Madison Park Signature section (7,000sq/ft) to maximize showroom squarefoot usage. Modularity, flow and experience being the top of mind.

Showroom Props

Under the leadership of another more crafty designer, together we were tasked with making many different props for the showroom including pallets, i beams, planters, and concrete panels, all simulated to look real.

Packed and palletized all pieces to be shipped to High Point, NC by LTL container.

Showroom DESIGN

Working with a the final layout, I tackled laying out the floor set to ensure a smooth flow, seamlessly transitioning from modern, chic to farmhouse, taking careful consideration finishes, wall treatments and paint colors. Products were shipped, unboxed and assembled by contractors. To ease the confusion outlined lifestyle sheets were paired with a map to alleviate the pain of pairing over 800 pieces of new and old samples from 4 brands.

Conclusion

This showroom had to be a balance of lifestyle as well as B2B sales. Walkways, and isle had to have a clear path, as well as ensuring you could engage with the product. ADA accessibility, restroom and exits signs all had to be within code.

Designs from one room to another had to be palatable, non abrasive and easy on the eyes. Ensuring colors and finishes transitioned smoothly from one lifestyle to the next, while creating multiple rooms in open space.
