OUTDOOR FURNITURE

After working for 3 and Half years with on Pottery Barn’s HADA tram, I transitioned to the Furniture team, managing their Outdoor development. The first task that I undertook was accelerating the time line up but 2 months to make sure we would be instock for the New Year’s Spring 1 Floor set.

The second undertaking was to introduce a new metal collection. This was a tall task as the order minimums are very high for metal if you utilize molds for casting or bending.

Working with the vendor we determined that we could make a cast metal detail that we would repetivally use to meet the mold MOQ. This would be the key detail throughout the entire collection.

Version 2 New Arm

After reviewing with the design team and upper management, we needed to change the the design for various reasons. We reworked the CAD and sent over adjusting the height, pitch, strecher and the arm to have more unique, and more unbiased look.

Summary

Though we did not end up running this for the season, we as a design team and merchant team learned a lot about metal manufacturing capabilities as well as limitations within the substates. These learnings carried over into the following seasons and even lead us to be more proactive and forward with the overseas team on future developments. The complete collection was still presented in 2D format, seen below.
